History

The club was established during the early months of 2003 by four mothers with children attending St. Andrew's who had recently been let down by the closure of their previous after school care facilities.

With the support of the school governors and head teacher these mothers embarked on a crusade to get the new club established and gain support from other parents of St. Andrew's to make the club a viable proposition.

After much effort, heartache and considerable stress, and with the help of the new staff, the club opened in April 2003.

The support of the school headteacher and governors in allowing school premises to be used by the club ensures the safety and care of the St. Andrew's children by containing them within safe and familiar environments from the completion of school time until the start of after school care.

Since opening, and on top of the ongoing club administration and management, the SAFA committee members have been busy drafting policies and procedures, and creating the forms necessary to obtain OFSTED approval. After much effort by the committee and staff, OFSTED approval has now been granted, enabling the club to extend closing to 6 PM.

The viability of the club is still highly dependent on the support of parents. The club is non-profit making and the fees are directly related to the number of children attending the club, and are reviewed each term when registrations have been submitted.

The club is currently able to accept many more children, so please help to make the club a viable ongoing asset to St. Andrew's and future generations of children by registering your children. Remember, the more children registered the lower the costs will be.
