SAFA
We would like to welcome to SAFA Sophie and Millie. We also welcome to our staff Karen to replace Louise who unfortunately could not return to us after Easter. This term we will also have helping us Rebecca who is completing a DQE Award.

All
involved in the SAFA Club are working hard to register with Ofsted and we hope
this will be completed for September 2003. This will mean working to ‘The
National Standards’ for Out of School Clubs, and we will also be able to
increase our hours.
Training – a member of staff will attend a 3 day
basic Playwork Workshop and will start a Cache Level 3 Diploma in Playwork –
equivalent to NVQ3. Other staff members are soon to complete NVQ3.
The
children this term have been involved in choosing craft and activities and
these have included making shortbread, origami, sewing, making junk model cars
and abstract painting!
Next
term we will be cultivating a small area behind the resources room. This will
include rain gauges, planting spring bulbs, and making wind chimes. On rainy
days we will be concentrating on preparing some pasta pictures and painting
portraits for entries in the Mannings Heath Horticultural Show children’s
section. Father’s day cards and chocolate dipped apples are also planned.
We
would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mrs Dawson and to thank The
Governors and staff at St Andrews for their support for SAFA.
Lyn,
Kath and Karen
